Glowpoint (www.glowpoint.com) is the nation’s first and leading provider of IP-based network videoconferencing solutions. The company launched in 2003 as a spin-off from a large integrator. Glowpoint immediately needed to develop agent and reseller programs, a vertical marketing strategy, a wide variety of sales and customer tools and collateral and a strong presence in the market. Zephyr was engaged to assist with all of these requirements and to operate as the company’s VMO while the internal team was hired and built.

The software was robust enough that the owner decided to spin off the technology and develop a stand-alone company. PCSC (www.panasonic.com/business/toughbook/home.asp) manufactures the line of “Toughbook” laptops are marketed to the federal government through distributors and VARs across the nation. PCSC is a very lean organization, with most of the staff dedicated to supporting either the customer or the channel partner. What PCSC needed was an outside marketing partner that could help plan and execute a wide variety of marketing and event initiatives.
Zephyr was selected to operate as the Virtual Marketing Office (VMO) for PCSC. In this capacity, Zephyr provides a wide variety of services to PCSC including logo development, event management, event promotion, and advertising support.

Pixion, Inc., (www.pixion.com) a web conferencing company located in Pleasanton, CA, needed a complete rebranding of the company. The CEO requested new positioning, a new logo, and assistance with marketing and sales strategies to build revenue through a reseller/channel model as opposed to direct sales. The CEO also chose to have Zephyr operate as the company’s VMO while he built up the engineering staff and focused internal resources on product development.

mRidgeway Systems developed a product that allowed voice, data and video to traverse a firewall without compromising security. The company wanted to be positioned for acquisition. The interim-CEO was concerned that the company didn’t clearly communicate the value of its product on the corporate website and there wasn’t a clear understanding of what the company’s software actually did. Zephyr was hired to help create a clearer value proposition, website and corporate message. We worked with the CEO in several areas. We helped identify companies in the industry that might be interested in acquiring them. We also worked to understand the value of the Ridgeway Systems and how could it could it be incorporated into another company’s solution. When we began to write and design the website, the data sheets, the messaging for the company itself and the branding, we did it in such a way that our target market would understand the true value of Ridgeway Systems. We created a new website for them and developed a tagline that more clearly defined Ridgeway’s value proposition. Because of our focus on the telecommunications industry, we were also able to provide the CEO with introductions to the various companies in the target market. The end result was that six months after engaging Zephyr, Ridgeway Systems was acquired by Tandberg Corporation and the technology was incorporated into the Tandberg video conferencing solution.

Sony (www.sonybiz.net/IPELA) was ready to launch its new high definition videoconferencing solution through the IpelaTM division. In a period of four months, the internal team needed someone to help develop an identity, all copy and collateral, a demo CD, a datasheet, a go-to-market strategy for the channel partners and to work with the internal PR department at Sony to help launch this new product. Zephyr was selected to work with Sony on this launch.

BVTI provides source selection and proposal management software solutions to the federal government. The company has an excellent reputation and their product, “The ARC,” is well-known to anyone working within the NSA (National Security Agency). BVTI approached us to help them build a strategy to expand into other agencies and break into the commercial sector. The company had a logo, but no presence on the Internet, no website, no brochures, or any collateral, for that matter. So this was as much a branding and identity development project as it was a business consulting engagement.

Clique Communications (www.cliquevideo.com) is a cutting-edge multimedia technologies provider delivering solutions via mobile, PC/Web and TV screens. Clique recognized that although their capabilities were sophisticated and offered tremendous value, their web-presence lacked refinement and organization. The company also wanted better messaging and a clearer emphasis on their value proposition. Zephyr consolidated Clique’s disparate web presences (they had several sites) under one virtual umbrella. We also worked with Clique to define and properly articulate Clique’s value proposition and target markets in order for Clique to present a consistent and compelling message to the appropriate audience. Finally, Zephyr updated their visual presence, creating a fresh new look that effectively blended the sophistication of Clique’s technology with the freshness their solutions’ universal appeal.
